I recently discovered this track by dubstep producer Helixir, and it is an absolute banger. Make sure to turn on your sub, otherwise you'll miss half of it.

Hip Hop Fridays: Souls of Mischief
Back in the day -- before the internets, when I was still listening to cassette tapes on my yellow Sports Walkman (autoreverse, y'all) -- I used to watch a little after-school program here in the Bay called "Hip Hop Fridays," hosted by Andy Kawanami, on the California Music Channel. It was THE source for discovering all the fresh new underground jams.
So, I've decided to reintroduce Hip Hop Fridays here on Rusted Rubble. To kick things off, I have to start with one of my all-time favorite hip hop songs and videos, "93 til Infinity" by Souls of Mischief.
Rapping while hiking in nature?? Brilliant.

In Rotation: The Fountain soundtrack

Q. What happens when you put the legendary Clint Mansell, Kronos Quartet, and Mogwai all together?
A. The best film score in recent years.
If you haven't seen the visually- and musically-stunning The Fountain yet, put it on your NetFlix queue. Here's my favorite track from the film, "Stay With Me."

In Rotation: Burial

It's no newsflash that recently unmasked Burial has been making some of the illest tunes in electronic music during the past several years. His beats and gritty atmospherics have certainly been inspiring to us Trifonic boys.
"Shutta" from the Ghost Hardware EP is one of my favorite Burial tunes. The beat is swung so nasty I can barely figure out what's going on... all I know is that I love it.
